April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
Why Blue Pinwheels?
Blue pinwheels are used for Child Abuse Prevention Month to symbolize the bright, carefree childhood every child deserves, representing hope, joy, and the promise of a happy future, while the blue color signifies awareness for prevention efforts to create safe, nurturing environments for children. Introduced by Prevent Child Abuse America in 2008, these pinwheels visually remind communities that everyone plays a role in protecting children and promoting their well-being.
How Can I Sponsor a Pinwheel?
When you make a donation to CASA during the month of April, your name will be listed under one of our pinwheels all year. You can also make your gift in honor of or in memory of a loved one. Red pinwheels indicate a monthly donor.
April 2025 Garden
Blue Sunday is the last Sunday in April (April 27th this year), where faith communities commit to praying during the service for victims of child abuse and those who rescue them.
This coloring sheet provides information about identifying abuse and neglect in child appropriate language in a fun coloring sheet.
